Mind-Blowing Steps for A Successful Personal Branding Photo Shoot

A good brand should be felt as well as seen.”

I so want to share my experience with how to end up with really amazing pictures that turn out really very good when you look at them & trust me, I am not even exaggerating!

There are a few steps that will make such a meaningful and positive impact on your photos when you decide to put them on your social media pages or on your Whats App display or even on your website.

I am very sure you are confused about how to start planning the shoot and what should be the first thing on your to-do list. But let’s make one thing clear to you, you’ve got my back with these super quick tips to get you going smoothly!

1. Well- Defined Brand Identity

So, the first tip is pretty simple. I always tell my clients to be very comprehensive and clear about their brand message and its identity. Why exactly do you need to do this? This gives your photographer a wide vision of the brand, and it is also helpful with how to capture photos that are liked by your target audience. To brainstorm a little these are things to keep in mind like: –

  • Who is your ideal customer?
  • Why are you different?
  • How do you make your clients feel?
  • Brands that inspire you.
  • What is your story?

2. Build a Beautiful Mood Board

Love this part of the shoot! Because you can just play around with your ideas, color schemes, images, and sample-style photos that are running around in your head.

Pro tip: – Create a new Pinterest board and look for pictures and themes that inspire you.

For instance, gather images of the outfits, backgrounds, poses, makeup looks, etc.

This way you will not have to think so much about what to do, and it will save you a great amount of time as well, because everything will be perfectly planned out while you sit down with your photographer sipping a hot mug of coffee knowing that you both are on the same page.

3. Location

Nothing beats when it comes to a location because it does most of the work for you! You should start looking for the right place as soon as you plan for your session. For extraordinary pictures, my advice would be to choose a place with natural light. You can select the location of your photoshoot depending on your brand as well. I can suggest a couple of options: –

  • Hotels and Restaurants as they have both indoor and outdoor spaces which work as the perfect backdrop for your pictures.
  • Cute Cafes and Coffeeshops as these locations make stunning lifestyle photos and you can also use coffee/food/drinks as your props along with the beautiful interior in the background making the picture do its magic!
  • You can also make use of a gorgeous studio or workspace as well.

4. Get Organized

Some people don’t even think about this part, but this is the most important one and we should definitely not ignore this one! Schedule everything before your session. If you are planning to shoot in your office or your home, make sure the place is clean and not messy. Everything should be sorted out before your shoot starts because it will take a lot of your time while you plan to do this in between the session.

If the session is outdoors, keep in mind to make a checklist of the things you require for the shoot, so you don’t forget anything. My tip would be to pack everything the night before your shoot.

Things like: –

  • Your makeup and your brush.
  • Steamer
  • Outfits
  • Mirror
  • Lip Balm
  • Phone Charger
  • Water
  • Some snacks

And don’t forget to play some good music while you enjoy the shoot!

5. Arrange your props

Okay, these props will define your brand and your overall personality by which I mean the tools and equipment you use to promote and grow your business. It can be a product that you want to showcase in your pictures, a laptop, your phone, or anything else that you use regularly when you sit down to work at your desk.

For instance:

  • Books in your background.
  • Plant on your desk.
  • Photo Wall.

6. Take Extra Care the Night Before

We have almost covered everything but before I forget, you must remember to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water one day ahead and at the time of the shoot so your skin looks fresh on camera. Moisturizing your skin before you go to bed, getting your nails clean and most importantly sleeping on time can make a HUGE difference. A goodnight’s sleep can literally do wonders! Your eyes, your face, and you are glowing overall when you are well rested. What do you think? Who wants to look sleepy and tired on the day of the shoot?

You gotta be on your toes throughout the day, and it will be a long-exhausting day. Resting well at night will make things easier for you on the shoot day!

So, get ready to shoot some incredibly good photos that will help your business

grow and will also attract more of your ideal customers.
